'A power plant is its people': Igor Kotelianets on TSN talks about the petition to free ZNPP workers
Igor Kotelianets, head of the NGO Association of Relatives of Political Prisoners of the Kremlin, was a guest on TSN as part of the United News telethon. The conversation focused on the petition calling for the release of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) workers whom Russia has been holding illegally since the occupation of the plant.
The petition has already gathered more than 50,000 signatures. Together with human rights defenders, families of the nuclear workers presented it in Vienna, outside the IAEA headquarters, to draw the attention of diplomats and the international community to the fate of the plant's unlawfully detained employees.
Joining Igor Kotelianets on air was Oleh Dudar, former head of the ZNPP operations division (2010–2023). They discussed whether international pressure can help free Ukraine's nuclear workers.
"The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant cannot be made the subject of partition — it must be freed. Because a power plant is its people, and you cannot divide people between two countries," Igor Kotelianets emphasised on TSN.
