Liudmyla Shumkova, lawyer at the Association of Relatives of Political Prisoners of the Kremlin, has joined the Coordination Council under the Kherson City Military Administration. The Council will work to support civilians whom Russia has unlawfully deprived of personal liberty, their families, and the families of people missing under special circumstances.
Our involvement in this Council is valuable given the Association's nearly decade of experience in the fields of unlawful detentions, politically motivated persecution by Russia, legal protection of those affected, and support for their families. As part of the Council's work, Liudmyla Shumkova, representing the Association, will be able to contribute to shaping decisions on the rights, social guarantees, and legal protection of those affected.
